Position Updates: MVIS

It's ready!

REDMOND, Wash.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Microvision, the global leader in light scanning technologies for display and imaging products, announced today that it will unveil and demonstrate during the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas an ultra-thin, miniature full-color projection display that is small enough to be embedded in portable hand-held devices including mobile phones. The miniature projection display prototype, based on Microvision's proprietary Integrated Photonics Module (IPM), has been developed in collaboration with one of the Company's high volume manufacturing partners to position Microvision to deliver mobile users worldwide a large screen viewing experience inside a thin and sleek portable package.

"Small, two inch displays that are common to mobile devices such as cell phones are barriers to growth of exciting mobility markets, because they limit the user viewing experience," said Alexander Tokman, President and CEO of Microvision. "Our projection display solution is expected to eliminate this bottleneck, benefiting consumers, mobile operators, content providers, and consumer electronics OEMs. As our display is further optimized for high volume manufacturing, OEMs are expected to create a new generation of mobile devices with powerful projection display capabilities. Content providers should benefit by expanding their portfolio of visually rich content and application services. Mobile operators should benefit from an enhanced user experience by increased adoption of mobile data services such as mobile TV. Consumers should be able to obtain a radically new viewing experience by projecting photos, videos, movies, and TV from personal mobile devices onto virtually any surface for entertaining and sharing with friends and family -- whenever, wherever."

The image produced by Microvision's display is extremely sharp and vivid whether being projected to view an image the size of a laptop screen or further away to view an image the size of a big screen plasma TV. Currently measuring a slim 8 mm this extremely small display package, about the size of a "thin mint" chocolate candy or the generation two iPodĀ® shuffle, has been dramatically miniaturized to 1/10 the size of the company's original prototype shown in June 2006 at the Society for Information Display. The Company and its high volume manufacturing partners will continue to develop this exciting technology into products that are expected to meet very aggressive market requirements for size, power, cost, and performance.

Microvision plans to demonstrate the projection display prototype at private showings for prospective global OEM customers, members of the media and institutional investors during the 2007 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, January 7 - 11. The company is showcasing how its display could be embedded directly into a device like a mobile phone, as well as be used as a standalone accessory display with a variety of mobile devices.

"This development represents a major milestone in the company's turnaround and growth strategy set in place in 2006," - concluded Tokman. "Our product development team has done an outstanding job and we believe that our customers and partners will be delighted by what we have to show during CES."

Comments:
Very nice, hopefully they can generate some serious interest from a big player. Minty fresh, cute.

The small form factor is great. Nice to see the actual size as well. This puppy is popping nicely. I imagine we will see more interest next week after they show it off.

From what I hear, the device is a jaw dropper.

I am confident they will ink a nice deal.

Lets hope Qcom and their MediaFlo people get a look at this next week. Throw in the Finns from Nokia-ville & this will work work nice with their DVBH platform

Ah..mobile TV on someones fat ass..i can see it now..some kid walking down the hallway types "wide load" on his phone and flashes it on fat ass brendas big booty..

I had my doubts how a clear image could come from a small device. But no more. Thanks again for pointing this stock out .

THE NIGHT BEFORE CES
by Mark Bowling*

'Twas the night before CES, when all through the brokerage house

Not a trader was bearish, none dared be a louse;

The shorts were strung up by the curls of their hair,

Failed hopes that MVIS would bottom in despair;

The longs were nestled all snug in their beds,

While visions of dollar-signs danced in their heads;

And Tokman in his gi**, and I in my cap,

Had just sandbagged the shorts with a nasty bear trap,

When out on the newswire there arose such a clatter,

Investors sprang from their beds to see what was the matter.

Away to their computers they flew like a flash,

Fired up their monitors hoping to make some quick cash.

The mountain of trades gave the screen quite a glow,

All the shorters of stocks had been left far below,

Then, what to our wondering eyes should appear,

But a miniature projector, the PicoP to be released this year!

With a tiny spinning mirror, so lively and quick,

We knew in a moment it would be greater than Flic!

More rapid than photons the upticks they came,

And MVIS bolted, and rallied, like a runaway train!

"Now, Tokman! now, Madhavan! now, McIntyre and Brown!

On, Walker! on Willey! on, Wilson, don't frown!

To the top of the market! to the profit of calls!

Now cash away! cash away! cash away all!"

As puzzled skeptics that before the product announcement try,

To belittle the product, with lie after lie,

So up to the skeptics the joyous MVIS shareholders flew,

With their sports cars full of profits, and a HUD display too!

And then, in a twinkling, I heard on Microvision's front lawn

Some crying and sobbing -- had an employee not gone?

As I descended the stairs, and was turning around,

On the curbside a beggar, with his hand out was found.

He was dressed all in rags, from his head to his foot,

And his clothes were all tarnished with red ink and soot;

A bundle of cash he had lost from his sack,

And he looked like an addict without any crack.

His eyes -- how they beaded! his wrinkles how scary!

His teeth were like coal dust, his nose was quite hairy!

His troll-like mouth was drawn up like a bow,

And the beard of his chin was as clean as dirty snow;

The stump of a pencil he held tight in his teeth,

And the ignorance he exuded encircled his head like a wreath;

He had a broad face and a bit of beer belly,

His clothes reeked of booze, undeniably quite smelly.

He was obviously a chump, a contemptible little elf,

And I laughed when I saw him, in spite of myself;

A punch of his eye and a twist of his head,

Soon had him reeling, in panicked mortal dread;

He spoke not a word, but admitted he'd been a jerk,

And he asked for a handout; he wanted an undeserved perk,

And displaying my middle finger in front of his nose,

He showed a bitter nod, as his resentment it rose;

He sprang to his feet, from where I'd knocked him down,

He knew doubting Microvision, had made him a clown.

But I heard him exclaim, ere he wandered out of sight,

"If I'd invested in their MEMS scanner, I'd now be all right."

(MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL MY FELLOW MICROVISION SHAREHOLDERS!)

So that is where all this cash in my account came from!

Do you expect MVIS to pullback in the near term to allow us to accumulate some more shares? or we better off buying it around 3.70

thanks

Expect some pullback (some idiots will sell and take profits), and then next week at CES will go higher after the technology is shown, and it is covered in the media.

some idiots will be pigs and watch their profits go poof after CES.

"some idiots will be pigs and watch their profits go poof after CES."

I am a piggish idiot.

Fucker.

I'm with you, broker, cause there is a lot more left after CES, but I would still like to see a commercial that shows a bunch of twenty something sitting around a campfire shooting Youtube videos on each others t-shirts...I don't think they would use my video of shooting a video to the driver in the car ahead of me "move over asshole"!...but I can hardly wait for the chance to do it ;-)

One other element that has not been discussed - the printer engine.

Hey Broker... the last 12 minutes of this conference call provides an excellent overview of the MVIS potential.

Howard-

My schedule makes it impossible to fly out to CES next week. If you like, I can get you an invite to the MVIS presentation.

It will be a private affair in a hotel suite on the 9th.

Let me know if you can make it-- I'll make the arrangements for you.
