Position Updates: ALCO

My only agriculture play, ALCO, has been on fire. They own sugar plantations, which can be used to produce ethanol. And, they own lots of orange groves, amongst a variety of agriculture and real estate businesses.

In short, I have no fucking clue where the stock is heading. Nonetheless, it is making me happy.

Comments:
MVIS may have put in a double bottom @ 3.25ish..

My Stock GRIL has been on fire as well. It's my wife's favorite restaurant. We go there once a week. New mngmt was put in last year. It's not as cheap as it used to be.

ADGO.ob Yes, a bulletin board. However look at their cash position and I know there new line of clubs(hybrids) are selling like hot cakes. They also are going to launch a new brand LadyFairway. They have the top LPGA rookie signed. They are gunning to be the next Callaway. Worst case, they go private at double the price.

Disclaimer: If the housing industry implodes and we go into deep recession, all bets are off.

Did you sell your sprinkler play LNN?

Brent: Whats the name of the LPGA rookie signed? My son who plays Div. One college golf played with some of them in the past.

If I sold LNN, I would have fucking posted it here, no?

Broker, If I see you at the bar tonight I am gonna crack a bottle of Hennessy over your fat head.

I played 2 years Division 1 Golf in college. I bailed because I got burnt out and realized I sucked compared to my Jr. PGA buddy Tiger Woods. I currently play in CGA events.

Adams Golf Signs LPGA Star and HSBC World Golf Match Play Champion, Brittany Lincicome

Adams Golf announces the signing of its first LPGA star, Brittany Lincicome. She will play Adams Golf equipment, wear the Adams Golf logo and carry the tour staff bag in 2007.

The 21-year-old Lincicome finished her second season on the LPGA Tour as the 14th ranked player on the 2006 Money List, earning more than $853,000. Her first career victory took place in July at the HSBC Women’s World Match Play Championship. Lincicome battled her way through matches against a “Who’s Who of the LPGA” to win the $500,000 first place prize money.

“Brittany is a rising star on the LPGA Tour and we’re excited about her future success. Not only is she a champion, she also puts on a show for spectators with her engaging personality and exceptional ball striking ability,” said Chip Brewer, Adams Golf CEO and President. “Only her second year on tour and she’s made a name for herself with an impressive World Match Play Championship and a handful of Top 10 finishes throughout the year. Brittany’s ‘All-American girl’ persona and the way she plays the game with enthusiasm and aggressiveness makes us proud that she will represent Adams Golf on the LPGA Tour.”

Brittany Lincicome’s 2006 Rankings:
- Top 15 Money List (14th)
- Top 10 Greens In Regulation (9th)
- Five Top 10 Finishes
- #2 in Driving Distance (278 yds.)
- #1 in Driving Distance in 2005
- 11th ranked player in U.S. Solheim Cup Points

Brittany is good. My son played with her in a mixed four ball in a match at Caves Valley in MD the year before she turned pro. Her Dad caddied for her. They were both very nice people. She outdrove my son (and the other team) on many of the holes. Good personality for selling merchandise. I know her parents made big financial sacrifices for her to get where she is.

Tradercaddy,

That's awesome. Congrats on having a son that is that accomplished in the best game on earth. I hope one of my two daughter enjoy the game some day. My 19 month girl can already say "nice Shaaat dada".

I just joined you and added an extra 5k.

Trading question for you pros: I've been shorting NT, not just because they're horrible, but because they announced a convertible, and there's been huge down pressure in advance. The convertible settlement date is next Wed; does this mean most convertible participants will have established their shorts by then? Hence, near-term traders jumping on the short bandwagon will be covering mon/tues?

Basically, I covered this afternoon happily but I'm wondering if that was a stupid move...
