Quick Alert: Oil Stocks on Fire

If you recall, about a week ago I mentioned how well the Energy sector performs in March. Based upon historical seasonal data, Oil stocks break the fuck out in March.

Now here we are, one week into March, and the sector is busting loose.

With my money, I am long VLO, SU, UPL and GMXR.

Although I hate the gyrations of the sector, they are likely to trade up-- as the driving season approaches.

Comments:
Broker-
When do you think a good time to pick up some more MVIS would be?

Its a fight to the death at SPX 1400! Is this really what it has come down to in order to determine which way the next leg of lamb falls?

OB:

Right here is a good print.

Yeah fucker, where is that seasonality report anyway? Slack ass.

And you need to quit picking up 100K blocks of MVIS. I think you're over doing it just a little.

Anybody else get excited hearing Rebecca Jarvis say the word "angina"?

An ominous sign. Financials (plus exchange stocks) are weak. The last time this happened was about ten days or so ago and preceded the downdraft. The so called "smart boys" must be selling before the next leg down.

I see Bob Pisani got all excited when Maria said the word "suck."

haha

caddy if you make it down to Lafayette, look me up.

MVIS needs to break above 3.56 to be back in bull mode. The best buys are in the low 3's.
