Position Updates: MVIS
I just got finished with the MVIS conference call, which I have been mentioning.
In short, the company is still actively pursuing commercialization of their Picop product, by mid '08 to early '09.
When asked about TI's projector, Alex (CEO of MVIS) said their technology was far superior to TI's. However, the company is not dismissing them, as they are always a formidable competitor.
When asked about Symbol's projector, who is now under MOT's umbrella, Alex said he couldn't discuss the intricate details, due to having an existing NDA (non-disclosure agreement) with MOT. However, he did say, MOT has no plans to use Symbol's technology in their phones.
Personally, I got the impression that Alex is more interesting in running the business and not the stock. The way it should be.
Meaning: He is not going to ink a deal, for the sake of inking it and getting the stock price higher. He is interested in a long term strategy, which will enable MVIS to prosper for many years to come.
In short, I am comfortable with the way this company is being managed-- and will continue to add to my position.
NOTE: Alex said the company is still on schedule to launch a PicoP product, by mid 2008.

fly,
have you gone through the numbers of what this stock price could be should they get even 10%-20% of the cell market in a couple years?
Or are you just going to use MVIS as a short-term trading vehicle?

Of course, with the ability to call the warrants in such a manner as to get a 35 million dollar cash infusion if the price stays above...what, $5.30?...then managing the stock *IS* part of managing the company.
Wood--
I believe a deal will be inked by next conference call, no this one.
Whether it happens, in June or August, it will make you smile-- when it comes.

Quoth the Fly: "-- In order to get a significant cash infusion, the company needs to have its stock price above $5.30 for 20 days. Further, management is aware of this fact and it is my belief they will get it done."

Yes, that is true. However, aside from the financing aspect, which is very important, there is still a business to manage.
That is my point.
The warrants will be called. It's only a matter of when.
Personally, I prefer CEO's who focus on building the business-- not the stock price.

I'd rather have a sustainable rise in the share price, instead of a LMRA type run.
Keep in mind, I am in this stock, long term, and intend on selling multiples higher-- than where it is now.
Tokman is the type of CEO worth banking on.

I love Herb Greenberg's disclaimer that he doesn't actually own or trade stocks. It makes me feel safe knowing that he is so confident in his own research that he chooses not to act on ANY of it. lmao...
ok that clears it up, thanks. So product launch by 08, obviously that means a contract soon. For you retards that doesn't mean a contract by mid 2008 that means a production fucking launch.
Tokman told us the first product will be Accessory Pico-P. Hopefully it will integrate not only with the newest models of cell phones, but also video game consoles and a wide variety of entertainment devices (Apple, etc).
To continue the "breakfast" analogy, Accessory Pico-P should sell like...hotcakes.

herb,
I'm not looking for a target, but more wondering whether this a ST or LT investment for fly. he just said long term and "multiples higher"--which is longer than i thought he would stay actually. But if AT gets this thing manufactured it's amazing how quickly it will rise towards 3 digits-- with even moderate adoption rates.

just for shits and giggles imagine they sell 40M stinkin projectors out of 800M "feature rich" cell phones. and they get $50 each. at even a sissy-boy P/S and even if there is 60M shares out by then thatll put MVIS at $166, dont like that? make it 20M phones at $25--and its still a ten-bagger.
Plus the cell maker advertises it and pays for much of it w a 2 year contract..its the HOLY GRAIL of investing,I tells ya!
