Sector Spotlight: Internet

Watch out for those rates. As you know, BX came public and is doing very well in after market trading. Also, it appears "The Fly" missed out on SMSI, despite going through all the trouble doing channel checks. The way the stock is trading, it appears VZ is about to resume doing business with those software fuckers.

As for me, with rates kicking up, I will not add to any positions, unless forced by gun. Although, I do like the way MVIS is trading.

The internet sector seems immune to the sell off, with ok gains in EBAY, OMTR, ANSW and GOOG.

Also, BBY is bucking the trend, up .45. I still own a little. "The Fly" likes to keep bullshit stocks around, like ugly Christmas tree ornaments.

Finally, it's worth noting, the dollar is taking a serious drubbing, versus the Euro. I guess that bodes well for the big multi-nationals. However, I do not like the combination of rising rates and weakening dollar.

In short, today may be a good day to have an espresso shot drinking contest.

Comments:
may I nominate a certain "anonymous hedge fund manager" for asshat of the week?

How about Herb Bearshit for his attack on HANS - yet again - on Fast Jerks last night. Gay Adami just rolled over.

I don't think an asshat award is as good without a picture. But, if you can find this anonymous hedge fund manager's picture, I agree with you.

The dollar is on the verge of breaking out to the upside, ignore the counter trend trading today.

The 10 year will retest the 4.8-4.9 level before going higher.

This bull market isn't done, we've got a little sideways action in the major markets to fight through before pushing to new highs.

Then it will be time to start getting cautious.

Fly,

Any thoughts on Russell Rebalancing? MVIS being added to Russell Microcap and ARWR being added to Russell 3000. Think it will cause a pop in either at the end of the day?

Honestly, I'd love if anyone can give color on how index buyers treat this. The list of additions and deletions has been out for at least a few days. Do people start buying and selling these things throughout the week or is it all about the MOCs?

Please excuse the "rookie" feel of this comment.
