Look you, when markets whip saw around like this, the playing field is leveled. It's the great equalizer.

Unless you have material information on BSC's balance sheet, you have been guessing, like a fucktard, just like everyone else. Both great and retarded investors have been getting poleaxed.

Sometimes, when the market "queer's out" like this, the best thing one can do is go play golf or tackle football (with no equipment), while the market settles down.

As you know, "The Fly" is making up on lost ground-- with several terrific trades (LEH, VMI, GS, short LAZ, etc).

Over the last few days, while in "mountain hell," I had a chance to figure out the paradigm we are in. As a result, "The Fly" is able to operate freely, "banking coin" along the way--like some sort of "bank magician."

In short, I want to sell into absurd rallies and short financials. To hedge my shorts, I am bulking up on basic material stocks, namely CENX and RS.

Furthermore, I am trimming down non-core positions, leaving more capital available to trade. In my opinion, the best way to play the market, until November, is to make short term trades.

Finally, beware of false rumors, as overly aggressive hedge fund managers use the power of the megaphone (CNBC) as a conduit.

Top pick: Short LAZ.

NOTE: This is huge.

Comments:
Did you close out that GS long? Looks dicey with all of this talk about Alphafund. Thoughts? I flipped mine that I got at 180 at 195 but got stopped out at 198.

Still long GS.

Microvision is on track to release the stand alone nano-projector before the end of this year... under its own brand name.

The rumor mill is working overtime and has the following to say...

1) Microvision will bring to market a stand alone nano-projector under its own brand name before the end of this year.
2) It will be called “PicoP Projector” and priced at $299 wholesale… at over 60% margin. Remember that 80% of a stand alone nano-projector consists of “PicoP Display Engine”. The rest is low cost electronics, housing and power supply.
3) PicoP Projector will be the first to market and Motrola will offer it [for Microvision] to its cell phone customers.
4) Motorola will not bring a stand alone projector to the market and focus on the embedded unit only.
5) Microvision has not given anyone the right to market a stand alone nano-projector based on its PicoP Display Engine. That is why you have not heard a OEM relationship to this day, even though the standalone is so close to being ready.

This is a great opportunity for Microvision to go first to market and address a multi-billion unit market [laptops, cellphones, PDA, iPods, iPhones].

Embedded nano-projector is a more complex product and involves several participants… and is better handled by the likes of Motorola and other cell phone manufacturers.

any truth to this fly
thanks.

short bsc; long cit. bsc's problems are real & pervasive, cit's are contained & overblown.

Standalone end of this year?

That "Fly's" in the face of evrything Tokman has said numerous, numerous times regarding the time frames of releasing anything PicoP.

I seriously doubt it will happen that fast.

Fly- are you saying that Blackstone is showing there is still lots more $$$ sloshing around out there?

This could be a game changer. Meaning, all of the old private equity targets can be back in play, such as OEH, NTRI, CENX, RS, etc.

Broker, what do you think of SLX as a metals play?
