Bush is so full of crap about people not knowing what they signed when they took out a mortgage. When I paracticed law I did about 600 closings. Many times people lied and cheated there way to and through the closings. I had one Columbian guy never come back to the closing when I told him he had to take his bag of cash down to the bank to register per Teasury Dept regs. A few lenders and mortgage brokers were dirtbags but most aren't and recent homeowners thought the equity would grow before their 2/28 arms were up for a new rate.
