The Miraculous YHOO Trade

This will be my last post unless I'm invited back. I went looking for evidence of my YHOO trade. I found it in my journal, but will not post that here. I also have my brokerage account. Again, private.

But I did find this.

I emailed this to the friends I told about the trade. You can see that the Yahoo! chart cannot be duped. I took a screen shot, added the stars, and cropped the page. Make up your own minds, but I tell you now: this is a very crazy true story. I have more if you ever want to hear them.

May the voting commence. I entrust myself to your will.

One final musical post. Given the "miraculous" trade above, let's groove with the Winans Family, one of Nashville's finest black gospel acts. Watch it to the end. Too perfect. Enjoy.

Comments:
You got lucky as hell my friend. Nice trade.

What most people forget is that it split again in '04. It is currently trading (split adjusted) below my selling price.

I think YHOO needs to have a violent dip downward (below the Mason-Dixon line) and then I am going to reload.

Who knows? Maybe MSFT will buy that crappy Semel-ized company?

I'm looking for the third vopbutton...

"NFW"

or... vote button for that matter.

There is no reason to "shitcan" Boomer.

After further review, YHOO did hit $9.37 and $50.

However, it's also worth noting, getting in and out perfectly at the low then high, due to a psychic dream, carries the same probability of being struck by lightning, while walking your gay goat in the mountains of Romania.

However, I've seen crazier stuff happen.

Jakegint:

Blow my goat.

Thank you, sir.

For the record, YHOO went materially higher after I sold. Therefore, I exited near the top, not at the top.

About the same probability of being struck by lightning while walking in Soho.

It was an incredible day. Changed my life forever.

shit boomer .. you must believe in god or some such shit

the "g" should be capitalized, thank you very much.

your welcome

what are you doing up in the middle of the night? you should be sleeping soundly & all that shit, with goD on your side, with a trusting women and enough resources to go off grid.

Fly--

Boomer comes off as a good guy. Don't shitcan him. We need someone like him, but not every weekend, mind you. Just every now and then
to restore the balance back to this blog. Kinda like the yin-yang thing only without the funny little black and white symbol.

If you're going to shitcan anybody, jump in your time machine, type in "future weekend blogger-Bruce" and shitcan Bruce for failing to capitalize the 'G' in God. (Rumor has it, he flunked out of Catholic school.)

I'll have you know, I flunked out of hebrew school ... rejected the whole thing before I was ten. never looked back .. not once. god , dog , God, Dog, its all the same to me . those who believe in God, try to get you to join them or no heaven or the rewards to begotten from belief in the one & only for you.. those who don't, try to convince you through science or logic that there is no God or god, Dog or dog ... it just makes for a big messy fight & countless deaths that still rages thousands & thousands of years since the idea of a God popped into the first believers head. The first believer created the first non-believer & the fight to the death over belief was born. And there is no end in sight.

And with that , I conclude todays sermon.

Reminds me of my days when I bought HANS back in August of 2003 around $1.85ish. I'd have to go through my trading journal again but I think I sold it around $175.32. It was only a few thousand shares. But it was a good trade.

OTR I mean Bruce- good stuff. You still need to capitalize God.

As far as the Dream an all. Who gives a flying fuck, this is Hollywood.
The point is I believe that he bought YHOO at 9 and sold at 50. Put Opie Taylor
on retainer before he gets his own show or Howard steals him.

Speaking of Opie Taylor, my son played a junior golf tournament several years ago at Hilton Head and Ron Howard's son (Reed Howard) was in his threesome. He looks just like Opie Taylor and I was tempted to ask about Gomer,Barnie and Aunt Bee but I didn't want to be an ass.

Fly, the weekend is over, your turn to blog. Market is closed. Tell a funny fucking story. Thanks.

Regarding the musical clip on this post, if you find inspiration in the massage, fine. But don't let the message, should it cause you to stumble, get in the way of an amazing traditional black gospel blowout.

Nashville has one of the most diverse musical cultures on planet earth. Country music is a very small part of this town, despite what the stereotypes tell you.

stockhead - i'll have you know that my real life personality is closer to fly's writing voice than you might think. my wife has been chuckling about it.

it's in my DNA: family landed at ellis island. settled in NY/NJ. i was born is Livingston, NJ. as a kid i lived in Newark, Maplewood, Bricktown, and eventually Point Pleasant where my dad had a restaurant. my dad was hard core italian american street smart.

he got us the hell out of there for a better life, and i am thankful for it.

Boomer, we hear ya 'bout the music. It's just that you aren't going to pop that song by the Winans into your CD player when you are crusin' around town. It just won't happen.

Ideas.

That shit is off the hook!! Hallelujah, brother man. Boomer brings in some of the best blogging music magic of all time..

Boom, are you saying the old man was in Witness Protection, or what?

____________

Bruce -- no disrespect, but I sure am sick of hearing guy's pin their dropping-out-of-Hebrew-school- guilt* on the hoary shibboleth that "religion has killed more people through history yada yada yada...."

It's horseschite, bubby. The four biggest butchers of the twentieth century didn't give a tinkers fuck about religion, and some might say that complete lack of moral compass -- and I'm talking Mao, Stalin, Hitler and Pol Pot, in that order -- is what allowed them their bloodthirsty license.

_______________

* or whatever religious training the speaker has abandoned and is looking to excuse himself for.

jake .. you are reading things into what I wrote that aren't there

no guilt

never said religion has killed more people

its a fight over ones point of view, no matter what that point of view is .. it can be that there is a God, that there is no God (communism), that wealth should be equally distributed, that certain people are born lower than others, etc ... when you can't convince others to come over to your point of view through logic, discussion, persuasive communication ... then all that is left is violence to enforce ones opinion which has morphed into dogma

when power accumulates behind a point of view, belief, dogma and becomes the law of the state .. it naturally tries to wipe out opposing forces

btw Hitler claimed God was on his side and that Arians were above all the other races which were preventing the Arian race from economic success & happiness & their birthright ... so he tried to wipe out subservient races

Mao tried to wipe out all philosophies & religion that were against the 'common' good ... Stalin the same ... the belief in a higher power (God) was a threat to state communism, so all who believed in anything other than the power of the state, which they considered the power of man, of all men being equal, were slaughtered

Pol Pot essentially followed in the footsteps of Stalin & Mao

Right, Bruce, but the reason they felt they could do that was because they substituted their own bizarre moral reasoning (that they, as the State, were in essence "God.") for centuries and centuries of standardized moral thought. That led to bloodshed beyond any previous conception. And Hitler was an atheist who used a cynical composition of "God's way" to grease his own evil machinations.

Whether you believe in God or not, you cannot claim that there is a moral equivalence with atheism, which is an abandonment of time honored (at least, some would say "God-delivered") moral law, for a relativist man made one.

One is not just as good as another, and yes Bruce you HAVE to choose one.

Morality is dependent on ones society, culture, religion, upbringing, etc. I see no universal morality out there operating in actual life.

It is humans that deliver, what you call "God-delivered" moral law. I wouldn't trust one of them. If someone told me God spoke through them, maybe I would point them to Bellvue. Maybe I'd humor them for a while. Maybe I'd have some discussion with them. Maybe I'd run the other way. Maybe I'd give them a biscuit. It would depend on my mood. Which God-delivered morality would dictate how I should react to them?

Mohammeds utterances while in a trance were written down and are the Koran. I don't know what he said but I do know that people have likely twisted his words to further their own agendas. I don't know what Jesus said but I doubt George Bush does either, yet he is in a position of power, to impose over his fellow humans, what he thinks he hears from God in his head.

You are telling me I have to choose God or no-God? Who gave you the mandate to impose your choices on your fellow man? You mean, "either you are with us or you're against us?" Is that the God-delivered moral law you are talking about?

For me God or no-God is irrelevant. What is relevant are people trying to bring other people over to their points of view & when that fails, all that is left is violence. Is that moral?

Oh please, spare me the atheistic sententiousness. Why not try a little humility in the face of history, instead?

My point is -- whether you believe in God or not -- there is a common moral code -- yes, Bruce, common across almost all cultures, that pretty much adheres to the tenets of the basic "Commandmants" whether you believe them to be from Hammurabi or Moses on Ararat.

The reason for this is that over many centuries of civilization, man has basically figured out how to live in peace with one another -- at least on a temporary basis. It's only when these codes are transgressed that we end up in turmoil on both a micro and a macro basis. When they are abandoned completely, as in the self imposed "workers paradise" morality, then you have massive bloodshed.

Why is this? Because these mores have been TESTED. It's as simple as basic trading rules... do what they who have done before you who have succeeded have done. It's only when you adopt the arrogance of "your own private Idaho" that we descend into anarchy.

Now, I personally believe the Judeo-Christian ethic has succeeded in bringing the best part of humanity forward -- ie, the civil west, but that's an opinion that can be debated among civilized men. My only point is their is a basis and a use for religion-based morality, and it is far better than one invented as one pleases, as atheists seem to believe.

I will assume as a common moral code, you mean the 10 commandments.

as an example of atheistic anarchy, you must not be referring to the Bible Riots? On a warm spring day more than 150 years ago George Schiffler died on a street in Philadelphia. Though history didn't record much about the 18-year-old, except that he was a "leather worker," it does tell a great deal about the circumstances surrounding his death. Young Schiffler was the first to die as rampaging mobs of Roman Catholics and Protestants shot, clubbed, and otherwise attacked one another in what was known as the "Philadelphia Bible Riots."Interestingly enough, the issue that incited the violence remains controversial even today, and that is religion in public schools.

What is a "workers paradise" morality? You referring to communism or unionism?

As far as anarchy, whether you believe in God or you are an atheist or neither, you must obey state laws or you pay the price.

Does the civil west include invading foreign lands based on fabricating evidence, fabricated by those who believe in the Judeo-Christian ehtic and who quote the Judeo-Christian bible? Or would that be an example of inventing a morality as one pleases? as you like to accuse atheists of doing.

Yes, it definitely means that if the fucktoids bring down our Trade Center and kill a bunch of my friends, yah dam commie.

newsflash ... It was Bin Laden & al queda that brought down the WTC ... not Saddam & the Iraq
